CHANTS POPULAIRES DE MÉDITERRANÉE
A foundational core of the Compagnie Rassegna for the past twenty years, this programm questions the musical legacies of the Mediterranean area. Constantly reinventing itself, it plunges deep into the melodies pervading the existence of men living around this sea — and at its very heart — while offering ever-changing interpretations, both new and innovative.
On stage, the six artists and long-time fellow travelers decided to focus the repertoire on songs from Sicily, Spain, western Algeria or Occitania. Sitting side-by-side in an arc shape, thus paying tribute to the traditional placement of Mediterranean ensembles, those singers-musicians combine their own personal legacies, rhythms, poems and melodies with a shared expertise and complicity, bringing on stage the sheer vigor and spontaneity of informal musical gatherings.
With Bruno ALLARY (guitar, saz, mandole, voice), Carine LOTTA (voice), Sylvie PAZ (voice, percussions), Hassan BOUKERROU (percussions),Fouad DIDI (voice, violin, oud), Julian BABOU (bass)..
